This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. We make it pretty simple: We do not collect personal information. There is no contact page, no purchases, no login… nothing where your personal info is entered.  Now, we DO collect some information about your visit (see Google below) such as the browser type and IP address of our visitors as well as the date and time they found our site, how they found it, and what pages they visited.  This information helps us determine and monitor our marketing strategy, and that is the sole use of that information.  It is collected by Google, not us, really, and in any case we do not share with anyone in any way, shape, or form.  The IP address is pretty specific to a provider and maybe even a general location and it might even be used to identify a particular device on a network.  However, without some connection to a database that can connect a name to the device (like a hotel’s registry or Comcast’s database of user’s IP addresses) it’s not considered “PII”.  At least, that’s the way the courts see it currently.  That said, that’s about as close to “personal” as we get.

Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we may use cookies so the website can remember that we already showed you a pop-up today so that we don’t annoy you with it every time you load the home page. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we understand how we can make our site better.

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.  With that in mind, we do not specifically market to children of any age, much less those under the age of 13.
