This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.
Talkalicious Privacy Policy
What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?
We make it pretty simple: We do not collect personal information. There is no contact page, no purchases, no login… nothing where your personal info is entered. Now, we DO collect some information about your visit (see Google below) such as the browser type and IP address of our visitors as well as the date and time they found our site, how they found it, and what pages they visited. This information helps us determine and monitor our marketing strategy, and that is the sole use of that information. It is collected by Google, not us, really, and in any case we do not share with anyone in any way, shape, or form. The IP address is pretty specific to a provider and maybe even a general location and it might even be used to identify a particular device on a network. However, without some connection to a database that can connect a name to the device (like a hotel’s registry or Comcast’s database of user’s IP addresses) it’s not considered “PII”. At least, that’s the way the courts see it currently. That said, that’s about as close to “personal” as we get.
Do we use 'cookies'?
Yes, we do. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we may use cookies so the website can remember that we already showed you a pop-up today so that we don’t annoy you with it every time you load the home page. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we understand how we can make our site better.
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since browser is a little different, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.
If users disable cookies in their browser:
If you turn cookies off, you might see the same information again and again because we can’t remember whether you’ve already seen it before.
Third-party disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information, primarily because we don’t track your Personally Identifiable Information.
Third-party links
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

California Online Privacy Protection Act
CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law’s reach stretches well beyond California to require any person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting Personally Identifiable Information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared. – See more at: http://consumercal.org/california-online-privacy-protection-act-caloppa/#sthash.0FdRbT51.dpuf
According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:
Users can visit our site anonymously.
Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it on our home page or as a minimum, on the first significant page after entering our website.
Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’ and can easily be found on the page specified above.
You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page.
Since we don’t track any personal information, there is no compliance policy in effect to change personal information, but if you have questions, you can email us.
How does our site handle Do Not Track signals?
No. Our site doesn’t recognize Do Not Track signals so we plant cookies and use advertising even when a Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism is in place. If that bothers you, let us know. Seriously. We do care.
Does our site allow third-party behavioral tracking?
Yes, It’s important to note that we do allow third-party behavioral tracking (Google Analytics, etc.)
COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)
When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online. With that in mind, we do not specifically market to children of any age, much less those under the age of 13.
CAN SPAM Act
The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.
We never collect your email address, though, so… we are pretty sure we are in compliance
