Nearly 20 years as a media professional. That’s a long time in a career I didn't imagine for myself. My plan was to be a CEO, have a husband, a son, a nanny, a dog and a boat. Funny how life works out. I have the husband, so far, two sons, a dog, no nanny and no boat. I stumbled into my career as a radio listener. I called into a talk show, became a guest host, and within a year I was hired as News Director for that local radio group. Honestly, it wasn't pretty in the beginning. Soon enough a mentor and a little confidence had me on my way, and I was hooked.
Radio lead to television and my two boys, not in that order. I wanted it all, a career and a family. BUT, after the birth of two active boys, luckily not at the same time, waking up at 2:30 am was no longer romantic or glamorous. I’m not going to indulge in the working mom, stay-at-home mom debate, but for me, I choose my boys and sleep.
But I couldn’t deny me. That wanting it all still simmered in my blood. And I figured out a way I could have both, okay it took some nagging by my loving hubby, but that’s when I entered the world of podcasting. What started as a simple podcast has involved into Talkalicious. A place for women to spend some much-needed guilt-free me time. In our ever increasingly busy and noisy world, fitting in some girlfriend time is a challenge. I’m here to help and be your virtual bestie.
Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to be a friend to many. Whether’s it’s providing an interactive and inspirational presentation to women, entrepreneurs, or college students, emceeing events, or representing companies on television, I use my unique way at looking at life, family, and career to motivate and entertain my new friends. As you listen to my show, read my blog, watch my videos or hear me speak, my ambition is to leave you with a little more bounce to your step, a smile on your face and the confidence of “you got this!”
